Knightwind Music was founded on the premise that good literature should always be available for performance. As a band director, there were numerous times when I wanted to perform a work only to find out that it was “permanently out of print”. Even if the piece was already in my library, it proved difficult to replace missing parts, or acquire extra scores for adjudicators. Understandably, the reason for this was the high cost associated with large print runs of printed music. There had to be a better way. The answer is digital music publishing. Music need never go out of print again!
Another benefit of digital music publishing is that publishers can take risks on new works that the traditional print publishers may pass on due to the high costs of the initial printing. This allows us to add more quality literature to the repertoire while supporting new composers in the industry. Other benefits include no wait time, no shipping costs and eliminates library space issues.
